ELLA GLENDINING
In Ella's own words:
"I’m an actor, filmmaker, and writer. I have been performing in some form for most of my life, having been part of youth theatre as a child, studied Drama at A Level, and been a cast member at inclusive physical theatre company Total Ensemble from 2012 – 2016. I also auditioned and was selected for BBC Class Act in 2017, a training programme for disabled actors.
A recent graduate of Norwich University of the Arts where I studied Film and Moving Image Production, I have acted in my own short films, including ‘Like Sunday’, a film I wrote and directed for Channel Four’s Random Acts.
I was born with a rare condition meaning I have no hip joints and short femurs. I use a wheelchair most of the time, though I can walk short distances. I am particularly interested in challenging society’s perception of disability in my work."
